Please Note:

It is important not to confuse what is called 'Immediate' aspirin with the daily, low-dose aspirin (75mg) taken to reduce the risk of a heart attack. 'Immediate' aspirin is a separate, larger dose of aspirin (300mg) taken at the very commencement of a suspected heart attack in which severe chest pain is experienced. 'Immediate' aspirin taken at the start of a heart attack can be life saving - even in a patient who has already taken his or her usual daily small dose of the drug.

Indigestion or Heart Attack?

If you are experiencing chest pain, breathlessness and feeling generally unwell and suspect it may be indigestion take an antacid such as Gaviscon® or Rennies®. In the vast majority of cases the symptoms of indigestion will have eased within 10-20 minutes of taking the antacid. If the symptoms persist, spread, or get worse seek immediate medical advice/attention in case it is a heart attack – DO NOT WAIT.

Why has nobody told us about this? We hear so much from PCTs and the NHS about preventive medicine and yet how many people know that taking immediate aspirin during a heart attack can save your life? I have bought several Aspods for myself, my wife and other family members, thank you for inventing it.

Last week I had chest pain as I drove the car, I immediately chewed an aspirin from my ASPOD. I greatly value the reassurance that 'immediate' aspirin gives me and I am grateful that I can carry the tablets on my person, and that they are so easily accessible.

My husband had a heart stent inserted last October because of a diagnosis of angina. He is a Maths Teacher and carries the Aspod with him day and night. Hopefully he will never have to use it. He has it on his key ring and places it at the side of the bed when asleep. I would recommend this product to anyone with a family history of heart disease for peace of mind and a back up should anything happen. Thank you ASPOD for your help when we needed it.
